100 Years of Creativity by Phaidon press
On their 100th anniversary in 2023, Phaidon asked 100 artists to submit an image that represented their work and their relationship with the famous publishing house. The entries included drawings, photographs, paintings and sketches and were then compiled into an elegant volume numbered from 1-100 representing each year of Phaidon’s history.
Featuring original contributions from artists, writers, designers, architects, illustrators and chefs, this is a love letter to the history of publishing celebrated in London and New York at Christies with a series of talks which I was invited to participate in as well as a selection of cocktail parties.
Publication of the book was limited to 100 copies, and I appear as entry no.70 writing about Daniela Villegas illustrated by her Brachiosaurus ring in 18k yellow gold, red sapphires, yellow and white diamonds, and pearls. Phaidon Press is the preeminent and longest-serving illustrated book publisher in the world and I’m proud to work with them.
