Styling / Art Direction

Men’s jewellery has become more important in the last few years. Some argue this is due to the rise in female empowerment which on the flip side has encouraged men to express their creative flamboyance beyond the rather sad leather bracelet.  I would say that men have always liked a bit of sparkle but that traditional masculinity didn’t permit peacocking in the form of jewellery.  Watches yes but jewellery was mostly considered female territory and left well alone.

I was thinking about the most masculine of historical figures and thought the cowboy was the most obvious so I decided to layer him in diamonds and pearls because beauty in my book is about contrasts.  Couture with trainers, jeans and a tiara, denim and diamonds.  Our model Christian Lembelin was delighted with the outcome and looked very dashing in our strings of stones.  One day I hope men everywhere will feel free enough to follow suit.
