Styling / Art Direction

A way of seeing, is what photographers possess that the average person doesn’t.  Brian Harris is one such photographer and I admired his black and white imagery all the way back when he was one of the founding photographers at The Independent.

You could stand next to Brian on a hill top and watch him swing his Leica to his eye and snap away with no fancy lighting or crowd of assistants and when you tried to do the same, your image came out as a bog standard hill top but his was literally poetry in motion and he was the first who made me aware of the magic of Leica.

Our product pages in the magazine are often glitzy but in this instance I wanted the quiet power of safari green because the way we see the world really is all about making everyday scenes, tones and experiences special and Leica do this in an extraordinary way.
