Styling & Art Direction

In many cases large, rare coloured stones such as rubies and emeralds have become more expensive and sought after than diamonds, previously the by-word for status.  I commissioned Jonathan Rosenthal, the Africa Editor of The Economist to write a feature on this phenomenon and working with still life photographer Omer Knaz, created a set of prisms to refract light onto and through the stones and jewels themselves.  We had millions of pounds worth of jewellery, some pieces only for an hour therefore art direction here was a challenge.  Omer gave me a delicately airy shoot with soft light which managed to tie all the different designers and styles together.  Styling Pariabas is always a pleasure!
